Jinkli Nona

This lesson package took a really long time to complete, mostly because of the tricky mallet-work required and the assigning of LH and RH mallets to different notes for the melody.

It didn’t take me long (mid-way through the melody play-along video actually) to realise that students would need a tutorial for the melody parts, and lots of practice to boot.

The song is lovely and upbeat, but is meant to be played in a quick dance-like tempo.

Something new I’ve decided to include in my lesson packages are lead sheets and scores. I have sadly neglected this area of music development and hope to make reparations by creating scores for my existing lesson packages as soon as I can.

Would scores be a useful resource, even for younger music learners? Tell me what you think.
